Check the Facts
- AllSides. News stories from the right, left and center.
- Fact Check. The Annenberg Public Policy Center, University of Pennsylvania, checks accuracy of political stories and ads.
- Open Secrets. The Center for Responsive Politics reports on campaign funding.
- Politifact. The Tampa Bay Times, an independent newspaper, rates statements by politicians on the "Truth-O-Meter".
- ProPublica. Pulitizer Prize winning on-line news source, specializing in investigative journalism in the public interest.
- Snopes. Fact checks rumors, urban legends and some crazy fake news stories on both sides of the political spectrum.
- The Sunlight Foundation. A nonpartisan group uses public information, policy analysis and journalism to keep goverment transparent and accountable
- Don't be influenced by social media campaigns - like the ones described here.
